Recently in my Mirror Themes Literature English class, we were talking about the new findings in physics that a small particle called the neutrino might be faster than the speed of light, throwing off Einstein’s famous equation. Science has been a constant, and the only solid ground for some people, since the time of Archimedes. The fact that what we have believed true since the greatest physicist of them all created THE equation might now change and not be correct after all, hints towards the fact that we do not know anything for a fact. Human beings need to have something they believe in. Even those who don't believe in God believe in something by not believing in Him. The stumbles in science are manifestations that we cannot rely on human thinkers and dogmas because the only true constant is God and the Church and findings like the neutrino show us that we do not know much about the universe. The Church has always been a constant in my life and it always will be. No matter how much I like science and enjoy working in a lab, tomorrow someone might find a substance that can make two objects occupy the same space. The Church has not changed in thousands of years and we still repeat the actions of Jesus from two thousand years ago. Recently, the English missal has changed just to go back to the true meaning of the Latin words that were originally used by our priests.
